Fórsa is urging its members in the health, welfare and social care sectors to update their contact details through the website – and to include a personal email address.

Following the recent cyber-attacks on the HSE and Tusla, Fórsa has found it harder to continue to contact members with updates on the workplace issues that matter to you. That’s because of more stringent cyber security measures, implemented by health employers, makes it more difficult to get through on work email addresses.

Fórsa is seeking personal, rather than work, details because this reduces the chance of union communications being blocked or lost in employer’s systems. All the information is held in strict compliance with the union’s data protection policy, and used only for communications on union matters.

Fórsa activist and chair of the union’s Health and Welfare Division, Clodagh Kavanagh, recorded this short video message, where she urges members to update their details through the Fórsa website to sign up for regular communications. “One way you can help would be to update your details to include a personal email address,” she says.

To update your details quickly and easily visit the ‘update my details’ page on the Fórsa website and complete the online form. (IMPORTANT NOTE: Your full name on our membership database must match the name on your pay-advice email or payslip.)

It’s never been more important – or easier – to get the protections and benefits of union membership. Join Fórsa HERE or contact us HERE.
