The group of unions at Aer Lingus, led by Congress, will be meeting shortly to consider a recent recommendation by the Labour Court for a pay increase of 1% and a voucher payment of €300.

The recommendation followed a process to explore the potential for an agreement on an appropriate profit share scheme. The matter was referred to the Labour Court in November 2018.

Fórsa’s claim was made on behalf of its 1,300 Aer Lingus cabin crew members.

The Court also recommended that unions and management jointly review the Internal Dispute Resolution Board (IDRB) as a dispute resolution mechanism, and that the review be completed within three months of the recommendation.

Fórsa official Ashley Connolly said the group of unions will meet next Monday (11th February) to consider the recommendation. “We’ll begin preparations for a ballot of the cabin crew members on the Labour Court’s recommendation after the group meets next week,” she said.

The recommendation also addressed the range of locally applicable bonus / incentive type schemes and security at the airline.
