Intervention sought on flexitime
by Róisín McKane

Fórsa has sought the intervention of the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) in a dispute over claims for a standardised national flexitime scheme for local authority workers.

The move comes following the rejection of this claim by the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA), which represents employers at the Local Authority National Council.

Fórsa has stated that it is unacceptable that local government workers are denied the same conditions as other public sector employees. The union is seeking greater opportunities for employees to work from home and other agreed locations.
