A number of civil service departments and agencies have come together to establish Ukraine support centres, which are providing one-stop-shop services to families and individuals arriving in Ireland from Ukraine in the wake of the illegal Russian invasion of their country.

The centres are located in Dublin, Cork and Limerick, and are providing in-person meetings with displaced Ukrainians, giving them ‘temporary permission’ status and processing applications for PPS numbers and income supports. They are also providing wider information and referrals to other services

“The centres are an excellent representation of cross Government agencies working together and all relevant agencies are aware of the services,” he said.

Paul explained that DSP outreach teams are also in place and have been assisting people onsite in applying for their International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS).

“This is a crucial first step to accessing different services offered by the State,” he said.

To date, over 5,000 PPS numbers have been issued to people who have arrived from Ukraine since the start of the invasion by Russia.
