Meetings for SNAs take place across Ireland

Fórsa is in the process of running a series of meetings for SNAs across the country. The purpose of these meetings is to inform members of updates with regards to the SNA Contract Review and use of the 72 hours.

The meetings will also discuss the report issued by the Department following on from the SNA focus groups and advise on the proposed new Department of Education Workforce Development Plan for Special Needs Assistants and what it may mean for the future. Details of the proposed plan and a copy of the report can be found here.

Meetings have already taken place in Limerick and Tralee, with further meetings scheduled in Dundalk, Ashbourne, Galway, Newbridge, Athlone, Letterkenny, Cavan, Dublin West and Wexford. A further meeting for Laois will be scheduled in the coming days. Members will receive invites to the meetings from their respective branches by email, confirming exact details of location and time, and registration information.

It is important that members come to these meetings to get an understanding of where the contract review process is headed and what the future potentially holds for SNAs.
