HSE HIPE coders are to be paid at grade V level on foot of an agreement won by Fórsa. They were previously on the grade IV scale.

The union took a case for upgrading to the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) early last year, and it was agreed that an evaluation of the post should be carried out.

After that concluded, a further WRC led to agreement in December 2019. The HSE has now directed managers to assimilate HIPE coders onto the grade V scale with effect from 1st July 2019.

All new appointments to the role will be at grade V level.
