Ryanair has confirmed to Fórsa that the airline will bring forward pay restoration for Ireland-based, directly employed cabin crew, represented by the union.

In line with agreement between Ryanair and Fórsa for pay restoration and healthy profits, the pay restoration originally planned for April 2023 is to be brought forward to next month.

The pay restoration measure for Irish-based cabin crew amounts to €1,250.

Last week the airline posted a half-year after tax profit of €1.37bn, compared to a pre-Covid profit of €1.15bn.

Fórsa official Eugene Gargan said the pay restoration measure was welcome and reflected the significant increase in company profits: “Ryanair cabin crew have worked through a particularly demanding year as air travel saw a huge spike in demand post-Covid.

“Securing pay restoration for these crew was a crucial objective for the union in the post-pandemic environment. Our members have been through a lot since 2020, from having no work during the pandemic, to working incredibly hard to meet the demands of a significant increase in flying and full flying duties. We welcome the news that their pay is fully restored,” he said.

There’s never been a better time to join a union, and it’s never been easier. Join Fórsa today.
