Wicklow revenue dispute resolved
by Mark Corcoran

A long-standing dispute between revenue collectors and Wicklow County Council was resolved this week after Fórsa won an agreement acceptable to both parties. The county’s revenue collectors will now be placed on the staff officer grade, rather than the assistant staff officer grade.

The title of ‘revenue collector’ will remain for current employees, but new entrants will be transferred to the staff officer grade V scale for salary purposes. They will also remain assigned to the finance department unless they move on as a result of promotion.

A ‘buy-out’ element with the deal will also result in a once-off payment, while the overall agreement will boost pension entitlements for collectors.

Fórsa official Lisa Connell said the resolution of this ten-year-old dispute would not have been possible without the cooperation of members, the branch chairperson and negotiating team at Wicklow County Council.
