Fórsa SNA speaks out on School Community Mental Health
by Niall Shanahan

Dermot Daly, a Fórsa SNA member in the union’s South Dublin South Leinster branch, featured as a panelist in this week's panel discussion on self care and school community mental health. The panel discussion was hosted by the Department of Education’s occupational wellbeing provider, Spectrum Life, as part of Mental Health Week, and featured teachers and wellbeing advocates.

Fórsa official Shane Lambert said Dermot made excellent contributions to the panel discussion, which took place earlier this week. “Having an SNA included in such a discussion demonstrates the growing relevance we have in the sector. Dermot was exceptional and the panel discussion is likely to be of great interest to SNAs across the country,” he said.

Dermot, who is an SNA in a secondary school in Dublin, has a background in health and safety, having previously worked as a health and safety officer in a large Dublin hospital. Dermot also sits on Fórsa’s Health and Safety Committee and the ICTU Health and Safety Committee.
