FAQ for members working in the HSE updated

The Frequently Asked Questions document for members working in the HSE has been updated.

Read updated FAQs here.

Members working in the HSE and Section 38 organisations are urged to consult the FAQ document to ensure they have the most up to date information available on how to follow the union instruction.

Head of division Ashley Connolly said: “The strength of collective action depends on members following the instruction, that’s how we make sure that we have an impact. Our members working in the health services know that their goodwill holds the system together. I want to pay tribute to members for taking this industrial action, which we recognise is not easy.”

National Secretary Ryan McKinney said: “We already know that the health service has been under strain for a long time before this industrial action began.

“As workers refuse to cover vacancies that will increase strain, however we have approved derogations to avoid worst case scenarios. Ultimately members have been covering the cracks in the system for too long, and goodwill only goes so far.”

If you have a question that is not addressed in the FAQ, please contact your local rep, branch or official.

Strike committees have been established across the country; you can access a list here. We will continue to update members as planning continues for two strike days on Wednesday 14th October and Wednesday 21st October.
