Day 2 Fórsa Services and Enterprises Divisional Conference - Tuesday 27th May 2025

Good morning delegates,


Conference begins this morning at 9.30am. A reminder that registration will re-open at 9am for any branches who did not have a chance to register yesterday. Only principal delegates should register. There is a helpdesk located next to registration should delegates require any assistance.

RTE have reported on national secretary Katie Morgan’s opening address to conference yesterday afternoon, highlighting her call on the Land Development Agency to recognise the union. Check out the coverage here.  


Today’s agenda is a packed one. As well as debating motions, delegates will hear from Fórsa President Martin Walsh, Dr. Tom McDonnell of the Nevin Economic Research Institute, and Liam Berney of ICTU. 


Distinguished service awards will be presented before lunch, and in the afternoon, there will be a presentation on our very own Organising for Power case study, the IALPA Aer Lingus pilots dispute which took place last year.

A fringe meeting on effective political lobbying will take place at 1pm in the Veranda suite. The session will provide attendees with expert advice on engaging local politicians on the issues that matter to you. The session will cover tools and tactics for effective lobbying. More details are here

The day’s work is scheduled to finish at 6pm, giving delegates plenty of time to prepare for the conference dinner which will begin at 8pm.
