What Now?

The Connacht Tribune reports that Galway City Council is pushing ahead with plans to fit out the new Crown Square premises into a new headquarters, ahead of a Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) hearing next week. Fórsa's Local Authorities members' bulletin is out this morning and has more on developments on that story.

Elsewhere, the PNA has suspended its industrial action. Meanwhile, the IHREC and ESRI publish research that says only half of fathers avail of paternity leave and a quarter of men take parent’s leave compared with two-thirds of mothers.

IRN covers the Bitter Orange's executive order last week for the exclusion of around two-thirds of civil servants across the USA from collective bargaining. The main US civil service union, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), said it is “preparing immediate legal action” against the order, describing it as "a “clear” threat to unions and working people across America, that they must “fall in line or else”."

Zen

The Studio is a very, very funny Seth Rogan comedy series, stuffed with movie references (very satisfying for nerds like me), and as good a satire on the workplace as, well, Severance. Highly recommended.

Have a lovely weekend.
