The Irish Times reports on Jack Chambers comments in that interview yesterday, leading with Threat of public sector industrial action ‘completely unwarranted’ – with the Minister for Public Expenditure quoted that the Government wants a ‘fair’ public pay deal.

Cormac McQuinn alludes to Kevin Callinan's comments, reported late last week in the Business Post, that any multi-annual deal would have to include a “formula” which would see public sector pay linked to inflation annually.

Elsewhere, the Indo and IRN reported last week on the message to Fórsa members issued last Wednesday, signaling the commencement of industrial action by 30th September.

Elsewhere, talks on pay and other matters for Fórsa's school secretary and caretaker members concluded in the early hours of last Wednesday morning, and new proposals will now be put to both branches in a ballot. RTÉ reports.

Your Zen this morning celebrates Katie Taylor. Saturday night at Croke Park was quite the spectacle, while there was a homecoming party atmosphere in Dublin city centre in the build up. I was reminded of where I was when she won her gold medal in 2012, watching the fight on the TV in the ground floor kitchen at Nerney's Court.
