In The Irish Times, Barry O'Halloran reports that Aer Lingus has culled senior management numbers by 25%, as pilots question the airline on expansion plans in the context of the abolition of the passenger cap at Dublin Airport. 

 

The Irish Times reports that a meeting of European trade union leaders has heard Government should use Ireland’s presidency of the EU to help ensure support is provided to Ukrainian soldiers, many of them disabled, seeking to reintegrate into civilian workplaces. ETUC general secretary Esther Lynch was speaking at an event at Nerney's Court yesterday, looking at ways in which the movement can play a bigger part in efforts to address the societal impacts of big conflicts

 

Elsewhere, at an event at the Teacher's Club yesterday, author Sally Rooney said that supporters of the Palestinian people need to accept that traditional forms of peaceful protest have not had a meaningful impact on the actions of Israel in Gaza. She said: “we are watching the world’s richest and most powerful nations facilitate an undisguised genocide.”   Meanwhile, the US president has criticised Israel and Nethanyahu for hindering peace efforts in Iran.
