Elsewhere, Fórsa was in the news yesterday as the Irish Times reported details of the union's submission to the process of developing a Government action plan to promote greater collective bargaining coverage. The news story focuses on Fórsa's proposal to consider a Canadian system which would require workers who benefit from salary deals or other collective agreements to pay dues or subscriptions even if they are not members.

Meanwhile, the Irish Times reports that the chairs of the boards of Gas Networks Ireland (GNI), Uisce Éireann and the Land Development Agency warned last year that restrictions on pay for their chief executives posed “real and serious risks” to the organisations.

The Echo reports on the next Raise the Roof rally, which takes place in Cork later this month, while more employers are now required to publish their own Gender Pay Gap report.

Fórsa is among the organisations who've signed up to the Unruly Passengers Charter as it was widely reported last week that more than 30 incidents have already been reported to Dublin Airport Garda station so far this year, which represents an almost 80% increase compared to the entirety of 2024. The Indo reports that the three most common incidents this year have been offensive behaviour onboard aircraft, obstructing or assaulting an authorised officer and being intoxicated onboard an aircraft. Irish Times coverage includes comments by Katie Morgan.

The Irish Examiner reports that the Government has been accused of "going backwards" after it was revealed that 42 public bodies are not covered by ethics legislation more than two years after a review into the issue.

Finally, a reminder that at 1:05pm tomorrow (Wednesday 4th June), workers will be encouraged to stand together in their workplaces for a moment of respectful reflection to mark the International UN Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

Zen

Post-conference unwinding is all about the music for me. I stumbled across this track over the weekend and Melanie De Biasio has won my undivided attention.

Have a lovely week.
