The Oner

Last Friday morning the Indo reported on the dispute between Fórsa and South Dublin County Council, on foot of SDCC's statement, issued the previous day. By Friday evening, RTÉ were reporting that the parties had agreed to attend talks at the WRC (scheduled for tomorrow) and the planned industrial action, which had been due to start today, has been paused.

Also on Friday, it was reported that the HSE had proposed talks between its chief executive and union leaders ahead of planned industrial action due to commence next Monday (31st).

Elsewhere, in education news, it's reported that all trainee teachers will be required to complete work placements in special education settings under reforms aimed at ensuring schools can better meet the needs of growing numbers of students with additional needs, as news emerges that the Government is in talks with colleges and staff unions over the introduction of a new grade of professor at the State’s five technological universities.

Zen

It's not an easy watch but it is a compelling watch, and that's why everyone is talking about Adolescence this past week. The Netflix four-part series is co-created by Stephen Graham, who also stars. It's a lot to take in, but it's exceptional TV drama, and after you've watched it it's worth taking a look behind the scenes as each episode is shot as a continuous, single take.

Have a lovely week.
