Lá fhéile Bríde

A day after our own NEC recommended acceptance of  the new public service pay deal, SIPTU's Executive Council have done the same

More than 2,500 public sector transport workers across Northern Ireland are taking part in strike action today. It is the sixth day of industrial action by transport workers since December and they have warned that further action is possible. Those on strike are members of the GMB, Unite and SIPTU unions.

The political backdrop for the strike is a push in Westminister to fast-track two pieces of legislation to deliver on the commitments made in its package aimed at restoring power-sharing at Stormont - which could be up and running by Saturday.

If you're working in Nerney's Court today, you can check out the illuminations on the GPO that are part of Brigit: Dublin City Celebrating Women, Shine On will light up the dark with projections celebrating the legend and legacy of Brigit as goddess, saint, and woman.

FYI: I'm covering the Breakast Briefing today as Niall is on annual leave - normal service will resume on Tuesday.

Have a lovely day.
