The ratification of the new public service pay agreement by ICTU's Public Services Committee yesterday is widely covered in national and regional titles, with Kevin Callinan and both ministers quoted in this piece, which appears more than 30 regional titles around the country this morning.

There's also extensive news coverage of the deal's approval in The Journal and the Indo, including that paper's usual focus on the effect of senior public servants pay.

The Irish Times coverage includes an editorial: "focus now on improving services" and a Q&A about the deal by Emmet Malone, as well as featuring in the paper's top stories of the day.

In addition, there was coverage on all three of RTÉ's TV news bulletins yesterday and RTÉ's News at One, with Kevin placing the focus on public service new entrants pay.

Meanwhile, the Irish Times reports that the new taoiseach will face a renewed push from within his party to "front-load moves on business supports before the summer as Fine Gael seeks to shore up support among small firms and their owners."
