Jiro's Unagi

The Irish Times reports that almost half of the firms surveyed by the Department of Enterprise (about the impact of statutory sick leave on their business) already offered better terms than the statutory minimum.

The same paper reports that a recycling company worker who alleged he was subjected to a homophobic assault by a colleague has won €12,000 in compensation for harassment. As the AGSI conference continues in Kerry, it's reported that measures are "urgently needed" to tackle a ‘cliff edge’ as Garda retirements are due to surge, according to the union.

Elsewhere, a report by European ratings agency Scope Ratings has found Ireland is among the most exposed countries to changes in US trade policy "due to its level of exports to the US as well as openness to global trade and business cycles," while it's reported that the EU will not agree to "sweeping" changes to its food safety rules to suit American farmers, nor will the bloc agree to cut ties with China.

Finally, the rain is back Ted.

Zen

Jiro Dreams of Sushi is a 2011 Japanese-language American documentary film and follows Jiro Ono, a then-85-year-old sushi master.

His little restaurant, Sukiyabashi Jiro, was a 10-seat, sushi-only restaurant located in a Tokyo subway station, and held three Michelin stars.

Have a lovely day.
