Problem Solution
by Niall Shanahan

Following last weekend's coverage on the Indo, on Fórsa's efforts to implement “urgent remedial action” regarding attendance at work during the continuing fuel crisis, other news outlets took interest.

In The Journal, I spoke to Sophie Finn as she covered the story on Tuesday, prompting calls from a number of RTÉ radio programmes. Ahead of the meeting with DPER offcials tomorrow, Éamonn Donnelly spoke to David McCullagh on his show yesterday.

Éamonn was joined by Dr Paul Davis from DCU who wrote in the Irish Times yesterday, warning that this autumn could see the return of remote learning because of the fuel crisis. He says we need to start some energy-resilient planning for our educational institutions now. Sophie Finn, meanwhile, is looking for readers' stories on how the fuel crisis is affecting them..

Still on remote work, I took part in Andrea Gilligan's lunchtime call-in show yesterday. In the half hour I was on, every caller, regardless of their own circumstances, backed the call for an increase to remote working arrangements where it is possible. This morning I'll be speaking to Adrian Kennedy on LMFM's The Agenda on the same subject.

Your Zen this morning considers Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin as the ultimate remote workers, with an appropriate tune to acknowledge their efforts.

Have a great day.
