The ASTI and TUI are to consider a joint emergency motion at their conferences today on potential industrial action in response to planned changes to the Leaving Cert in September, while TUI president David Waters calls for greater investment in education.

Elsewhere, a sizable number of pension experts expect further delays to the auto-enrolment scheme, which has been pushed back from September, and Pat Leahy's analysis of the current global debacle is not comforting but remains fairly clear-eyed about what we are up against.
