I missed this yesterday, but there's news that the number of Irish job postings offering remote or hybrid work arrangements rose to a record high last year despite several well-known companies issuing return-to-office mandates to staff.

Following on from yesterday's news of Deepseek's disruptive arrival on to the global tech market, the Irish Times have a review of ChatGPT's newest rival, which shows a programmed reluctance to discuss Tianeman Square or Taiwan, but will happily talk about the Healy-Raes.

Elsewhere on the Irish Times front page, officials at the Department of Defence have warned that Finland and Sweden's joining Nato - in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine - may leave Ireland more isolated within the EU on the issue of military neutrality, while Ocean FM reports that a Sligo Councillor says moves like providing low cost housing to attract staff, could be used in the public sector to address shortages of key workers in the North West

Meanwhile, former Fine Gael TD Kate O'Connell is set to testify to an employment tribunal after being accused of bullying by a senior pharmacist, and caution is required as employees’ rights to privacy and to freedom of expression "may not prevent them being dismissed or censured at work over their private social-media posts," according to the experts.

Zen

This song popped into my head yesterday. I loved it as only an eight-year old can love a pop song, even if I couldn't understand the significance of how the "Indiana wind and rain cut through" him while he was "a million miles from home."

Have a great day.
