The Voyage

by Niall Shanahan

RTÉ's Brian O'Donovan writes about the launch, taking place today, of Fórsa's election manifesto, He leads with the calll for the four day week, and the call on the next government to prioritise pay increases that go beyond rates of inflation, and to protect remote working.

Elsewhere, RTÉ chief Kevin Backhurst has said ministerial delays in approving a voluntary redundancy scheme at the broadcaster are “incredibly frustrating” and have added several million euro to the broadcaster’s operating costs this year, while Morning Ireland reports that Galway city drivers spend up to three days a year sitting in traffic. News that will surprise nobody in this parish.

I was surprised and pleased to see The Guardian has decided to stop posting on Twitter from any of its official editorial accounts, as the exodus from Musk's outside toilet continues. The social media sewer owner responded with a trademark thin-skinned tantrum. And while we don't need somebody like the Muskrat meddling in the Irish electoral process, Finn McRedmond argues that we might need a Joe Rogan. As Musk might say, let that sink in.

Zen

As I mentioned yesterday, singer-songwriter Johnny Duhan was one of two people who died while swimming off the west coast earlier this week. Zen today doffs its cap to Johnny. Ar dheis dé go raibh an-anamacha.

Have a great day.

Niall
