The weather continues to dominate the day's news stories, as some schools to remain closed and more than 10,000 households and businesses are without electricity.

Met Éireann's status yellow warning of more snow and ice is in effect until 12pm today. Met Éireann says daytime temperatures will struggle to climb above freezing and night-time temperatures will plunge as low as -8 degrees in some places, with conditions expected to continue until Friday.
