Pauses and Cancellations

Fórsa's SNAs continued to have a strong presence in yesterday's news cycle as the Minister for Education and Youth Hildegarde Naughton announced a pause to the review of SNA allocations following concerns raised by parents and schools. Andy Pike and Shane Lambert were out in the media again to welcome the news and to advise the Government that it needs to ensure special education is adequately funded: "because if 25,000 SNAs is not sufficient to meet the need that has been identified, then the Government needs to look at its investment strategy for delivering its goals for special education." 

 

The story features on the front page of the Irish Times this morning.

 

Also in the news this week, Fórsa driver testers, whose planned industrial action was called off late last night following agreement with the RSA on a number of practical steps to ensure testers are fully covered in all aspects of their work, including while conducting tests in uninsured vehicles.
