This morning's news is led by the ceasefire deal in Gaza. The Irish Government has welcomed the Gaza ceasefire and hostage deal following “15 months of immense human suffering and destruction." The truce does not take effect until Sunday, and Israel intensified strikes on Gaza just hours after the deal was announced.

Also, the Irish Times reports this morning that unions have criticised a recommendation, by an advocate general of the European Court of Justice, that the European Union’s recent adequate minimum wage directive be annulled in its entirety.
