Government plans to ban no-fault evictions for large landlords, coming in next month, could see a group of vested interests take the Government to court. John McManus characterises this as "very much poking a bear," and expects the ban to survive any constitutional test

 

Speaking of the courts, Irish court proceedings take three times longer than the Council of Europe average, according to a new report by the Law Society of Ireland.

 

Unfortunately, more rain is coming to the east coast on Thursday and Friday. Householders and businesses have been warned to brace for further flooding in the coming days, while local authorities are on full alert

 

John Fitzgerald argues that we need to abolish mandatory retirement and encourage longer working lives, while Sylvia Thompson urges employers "to embed grief care into their wellbeing initiatives."
