Up Lifted

The Indo reports that the Taoiseach weighed in on that point also, while the Irish Times reports Chambers as saying public sector workers are “unwilling to sit down and engage” with the Government on a new national pay deal, and quotes Kevin Callinan in its coverage.

Kevin spoke to Rachel English on RTÉ's News at One ahead of her interview with the DPER minister, and also appeared in Brian O'Donovan's coverage on Six One and the Nine News. I did a number of local and regional radio station interviews yesterday, rounding out the experience with a one-to-one with Ciara Kelly on Newstalk's The Hard Shoulder which got a bit...testy, but not bitter.

Elsewhere, and because we shared the data in yesterday's media statement, extensive regional media coverage includes county-by-county figures of how many Fórsa members are taking part in the work-to-rule. The Irish Examiner editorial, meanwhile, contrasts the legality of our action against the threatened resumption of fuel protests.

New CSO figures show labour productivity is almost eight times higher in the foreign-dominated manufacturing and IT sectors in Ireland because of multinationals, while Margaret E Ward writes about how women’s invisible labour in the workplace "costs them too much" and how  ‘people-focused’ activities help colleagues and team cohesion, but are unlikely to lead to promotion.

Your Zen this morning is lifted from the 1972 Wattstax concert, and one of the opening songs, Kim Weston's Lift Every Voice and Sing. Described as "one of the most cherished songs of the African American Civil Rights Movement" and often referred to as the Black National Anthem. An incredibly uplifting song should you need a lift this morning.

Have a great day.
