by Niall Shanahan

Good morning colleagues,

The LEEF meets today, and The Journal reports that the Taoiseach will "engage with and listen to the concerns of those representing industries, businesses and workers on the frontline of tariffs announced by the US this week." The same news outlet reports that a "cautious budget" is on the cards this October, as the money markets plummet.

RTÉ reports that ICTU is calling for the introduction of measures, such as short-time work schemes, to protect jobs, workers' incomes and skills in vulnerable but viable businesses. Congress has said trade unions must be part of the Government's response to the tariffs.
