Good morning colleagues,

The Labour Court is exercising its right to intervene in the dispute between IALPA and Aer Lingus under the Industrial Relations Act 1990 act (section 26 subsection 5). The parties adjourned from the Court just after 11pm last night

The Labour Court has requested final written submissions to be made by close of business today (Tuesday) with court hearings to take place tomorrow, and a recommendation to follow.

The Court has asked that there be no escalation of the dispute. The current work-to-rule by IALPA members will remain in place. In his coverage of developments in the Irish Times, Barry O'Halloran reports that Aer Lingus is leasing aircraft and crews "to aid it in combating industrial action by pilots."
