Mo Better
by Niall Shanahan

Elsewhere in the news today, the High Court has granted an order to a civilian driver for the gardaí, who was made to retire at 70, that he be reinstated to his post, while the founder of Astronomy Ireland has been attached to an employment rights claim by a former manager who has accused him of "pocketing" money meant to go to the science organisation.

It was five years ago today that Britain left the EU. The BBC looks at what has changed since. Elsewhere, the Seanad count continues and there might yet be another flaming row in Kildare Street about speaking rights.

Zen

I'm almost certain I featured the first season of Mo as a moment of Zen back in 2022. The good news today is that Netflix has a second season of the show landing soon. It's the semi-autobiographical story of Mo Najjar (Mohammed Amer), a refugee who arrived in Houston, Texas, as a child when his Palestinian family fled the Gulf war. It's funny, sharp, timely and full of genuinely brilliant characters. Do check it out.

Have a great weekend. Hup Brigid!
