Giants of all sizes
by Niall Shanahan

In other news the Association of Judges of Ireland has expressed concern about the quality of the people applying to be judges in a letter to the Public Service Pay Commission, while Tánaiste Simon Coveney says he's “angry” that child homelessness is continuing, responding to an image that's gone viral of a five-year-old child eating his dinner from a sheet of cardboard on a Dublin street this week.

The Irish Examiner reports that the IMO has given the Government three weeks to sort out the consultant recruitment crisis - or face potential strike action.

Elsewhere, the effect that climate change is having on our health, and how that will impact in differing ways around the world, isn't getting much airtime, and the news isn't good.

Your Zen this morning marks a new album from Bury's broodingly best and burliest brotherhood, Elbow. If you know, you know.

The new album Giants of All Sizes is well worth a listen. Kept me company on my way back from a great planning session with the Dublin North Health & Welfare branch in our Galway offices yesterday. With thanks to everyone involved for both the great input and warm hospitality.

Have a great weekend.
