The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) has said it will not support the proposed deal on Brexit, as moves to reach an agreement ahead of the EU summit today continue.

 

The Irish Times reports that the Minister for Health Simon Harris will have discussions on health reform with the Irish Medical Organisation (IMO) later today, amid concerns from finance chief Paschal Donohoe that the talks would centre on new entrant remuneration and the two-tier pay system for hospital consultants.

 

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) said action to implement a motion on housing, calling for measures including ensuring rents are affordable, investment in construction of public housing, and an end evictions into homelessness, hasn't progressed despite being passed over 12 months ago.  

 

The CEO of COPE Sean Abbott, has appealed for €120 million in extra funding over the next four years for the foundation, which provides supports for people with intellectual disabilities. Mr Abbott said a failure by the State to invest in disability services is forcing voluntary agencies to refuse help to people who desperately need it.
