ESB Networks says power has now been restored to 26,000 customers in north and west Dublin who were affected by an outage this morning.

Supply was lost due to a fault at a substation in Finglas.

It was fixed shortly before 8.30am.

An issue with a transformer was identified, which was repaired.

The areas most affected were Castleknock, Coolmine, Palmerstown and Ballycoolin.

Traffic lights were affected and Iarnród Éireann said there were delays to northside DART and northern commuter services.

An Iarnród Éireann spokesperson said services were stopped for around 30 minutes due to the outage.
