Revenue is to extend the pay and file deadline until 6pm tomorrow following problems with its online system ROS. It said that with taxpayers and agents working towards a deadline of midnight last night (12 November) the ROS system has been experiencing very heavy usage volumes, with some 3,000 - 4,000 returns filed per hour. This is the first time that Revenue has had to extend the ROS pay and file deadline in this way.

Elsewhere, food products from Israeli-occupied territories must be clearly labelled as such to avoid misleading consumers, the EU's top court has ruled, particularly if they come from settlements there. The European Court of Justice said that, under EU rules on food labelling, it must be clear where products are from so that consumers can make choices based on "ethical considerations and considerations relating to the observance of international law".

A former Tesco employee, who took a €25,000 voluntary redundancy package unaware he had an option of continuing to work night shifts in the store, has been awarded €25,000 damages on top of his original €25,000 redundancy pay-out.

A documentary broadcast on RTÉ last night called Hot Air - Ireland's Climate Crisis saw Phillip Boucher-Hayes look at the biggest areas to be addressed to meet the emissions reduction targets Ireland has signed up to. It was then announced this morning that Irish beef exports to China are set to grow more than ten-fold in the next year.

And finally, today's Zen is once again courtesy of my 'liked' tweets catalogue. This video features a woman singing from the window of her apartment and the city's reaction is equally as beautiful as the performance itself. According to the tweet's publisher, this took place in Santiago, Chile during a government imposed curfew following demonstrations. Her name is Ayleen Jovita Romero and she's singing 'El derecho de vivir en paz' or 'The right to live in peace.'
