The Irish Independent reports that the Irish Airline Pilots Association (IALPA) have stalled Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) plans to adjust the north runway at Dublin airport.

 

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) has published a report examining the threat to jobs and business as a result of Brexit. The report titled "Preparing for Brexit - ICTU Proposals to support jobs and workers”, makes a number of recommendations to protect jobs, including establishing a short-time work scheme and a Brexit adjustment assistance fund. 

 

The Irish Examiner reports that tax revenues coming into the exchequer last month are easing the pressure on finance minister Paschal Donohoe to deliver his October budget plans, despite the escalating Brexit crisis and the possibility of a UK general election.

 

The Government intends to challenge the Data Protection Commission’s findings that the Public Service Card has no basis in law. The Irish Times reports that a Cabinet meeting yesterday evening was told there is a “strong legal basis” for the continued use of the card and it would be “potentially unlawful” to withdraw it.
