Digesters don't do caption competitions, but if we did...

Anyway, we're now in the final day of the Fórsa civil service and local government conferences here in Kilkenny, where Derek Mullen gained coverage for his thoughts on artificial intelligence. That's also in the Examiner, which goes on to reference Mary Murphy's speech at the local government gig.

The Examiner also went with our call for local government empowerment, while the Irish Times highlighted our water debate and couldn't resist a local government motion that included the words 'industrial action.' The Indo covers that story too  (curiously accompanied by a picture of "Head of Fórsa" Derek Mullen), along with water.

We respect all our journalists equally, but here's a shout-out for Newstalk's Shane Beatty who got us a wedge of coverage for this and other stories in local media outlets across the country this week. Here's Niall Shanahan talking about time in Kildare.

Meanwhile, the AHCPS has joined Fórsa's call for a review of the PSSA, the latest Irish Times poll makes pleasant reading for Fine Gael, and Dublin Airport Authority has been told to cut its charges.

Finally, hats off to the Indo sub-editor who put 'cattle be the day" over the story about a cow giving birth to triplets. That made me smile.

So did bumping into my mate Helena Pryor down among the cats. Just like that, the conversation turned to Tommy Cooper, which gave me an idea for some Zen.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Bernard
