Silver lining
by Bernard Harbor

First spare a thought for members of the PSSA implementation body, who'll spend today listening to teachers' and nurses' woes.

That comes hot on the heels of Fórsa's support our (school) secretaries campaign, which launched yesterday and trended on Twitter. The event was covered by RTÉ online, the Irish Times, and the Journal.ie, while Kevin Callinan and school secretary Maeve Hurrell made the case on Today with Seán O'Rourke.

Meanwhile, the failure to prosecute thousands of juvenile offences gets a run-out in most papers, while Brian Crowley's decision to quit politics is also widely covered.

In news shorts, Star Wars is back (but not in a good way), Aer Lingus has new livery, and there are students coming out of the yingyang.

Finally, my thanks to Brother Shanahan for the nod to my recent Newstalk outing in Monday's digest. After doing that I went to see Stan and Ollie which, believe me, is worth the tenner just for the ties. And this Zenderful scene.

Relish the weekend!

Bernard
