Tax cuts are back on the table ahead of Budget 2020. The Government’s pledge to raise the threshold at which the higher-rate income tax applies to €50,000 is set to cost €2.3 billion.

 

The High Court has ruled that a person applying to become a naturalised Irish citizen must have "unbroken" residence in the State for an entire year immediately before the date of their application.

 

BALPA, the British pilots' union has said it served notice to Ryanair of its intention to ballot members for industrial action over pay and conditions. If members vote in favour of strike, the action may take place on the week beginning August 19th.
