The insects have it (and the chimps)
by Bernard Harbor

As Teresa May absorbs another Brexit defeat and Trump ramps up his wall fetish, this piece on the similarities between humans and chimpanzees looks a lot like an insult to the latter.

Back here, the Indo claims there's no loot for nurse managers in this week's Labour Court rec, while the Sun spots an ASTI ginger group on the warpath.

Elsewhere we hear that our water infrastructure can't cope with extreme weather, the Air Corps can't hire pilots, and ambulance drivers (or are they psychiatric nurses?) are on strike today.

Once you've had your fill of that lot, I'd recommend this Stephen Collins piece on the coarsening of Irish politics.

Finally, be aware that Nat 'King' Cole died this day in 1965. Click the photo for his famously velvet tones if you like, but Zen has him tickling the ivories with Lester Young and Buddy Rich.

Mind the buses (especially if you're out with the staff social club this evening).
