Unions and politicians have criticised employers who say staff must give up annual leave for days they could not work during the recent snow storm. The Irish Times reported yesterday that Ryanair crew unable to work due to Storm Emma will not be paid.

 

Simon Communities claim only 7% of rental properties are within reach of housing benefit recipients.

 

The Journal reports this morning that Garda superintendents are refusing to conduct promotion interviews, as part of a work to rule,  until their pay dispute is resolved.

 

The Indo covers day one of Cheltenham 2018, while in the US Pennsylvania Democrats aim to draw in union workers who voted for Trump to support the Democratic nominee for the special election in Pennsylvania’s 18th congressional district today.
