Companies could be fined up to €25,000 for falsely marking staff as self-employed. Under planned government legislation, the maximum penalty for companies convicted of the practice would rise by €12,000. The Sunday Business Post reports it's part of a new government crackdown that will see the number of inspections increase. 

The Times reports that the Government will give the go-ahead this week for the biggest restructuring of the Health Service Executive (HSE) since it was established almost 15 years ago. Minister for Health Simon Harris is to bring proposals to Cabinet on Wednesday to re-establish six regional healthcare structures around the State, which will have high levels of autonomy.

The Irish Cancer Society (ICA) has teamed up with ICTU to urge outdoor workers to be extra vigilant during the summer months, and to reduce their risk of skin cancer. The organisation has warned that that almost one in four skin cancer deaths in Ireland are in the construction, outdoor, and farming industry sectors, ICA members are in prime position to pass on the Sun Smart message.

The Examiner reports that school absenteeism cases on Tusla’s national waiting list have surged to the highest recorded level due to the rising number of homeless children, insufficient numbers of staff, and increasingly complex cases such as students with mental health issues and special needs.

The Garda Representative Association says it's alarmed by reports that training and technology budgets will be cut to pay for last month's visit by US President Donald Trump. The statement comes following internal report highlighting under investment in training, ICT, staffing and facilities.

The Indo reports that Bord na Móna has agreed to suspend the lay-off of all permanent staff at its Mount Dillon operation ahead of talks with unions next week. This comes, following an announcement on Thursday that the company was suspending all peat operations at Mount Dillon, Co Longford, and placing 148 full and part-time workers on immediate unpaid leave.

Psychiatric nurses have suspended their overtime ban following "intensive" talks with the Health Service Executive (HSE). Announcing the deferral on Friday night, the PNA said they have received a number of assurances from the HSE, with details to be finalised on Wednesday.

Amazon warehouse workers in the US going on strike today in a protest against unsafe working conditions. Meanwhile, more than 2,000 workers at seven Amazon sites across Germany are also engaing in industrial action in a dispute over pay. For more on this click here.
