Trumps surrender

Donald Trump is expected to surrender to authorities in New York City in the early part of next week, and be brought before a judge after being indicted by a grand jury. He will be the first former president to be charged with a crime.

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has welcomed the passage of the Work Life Balance Bill by both Houses of the Oireachtas. The legislation will introduce a range of measures to improve family-friendly work practices including giving parents and carers the right to request flexible work.

 

Pressure is mounting on Defence Forces chief of staff Lieut Gen Seán Clancy to explain remarks he made about abuses in the Defence Forces, with the Seanad told his response to the revelations was “not a credible position” and was “most worrying”.

 

The first man to be convicted of coercive control by a jury in Ireland has lost an appeal against his 10 and a half year sentence for making his partner’s life a “horror show” with repeated violent assaults, threats, intimidation and humiliation.
