God save strawberry jam

The Sunday Business Post credits Fórsa with forcing a Government u-turn on the Irish Water referendum (there's a pay wall, but I have a hard copy upstairs).

The Post also reports that nurses will lose increments if they go on strike. Meanwhile, LUAS drivers and doctors are also gearing up for rows, and ICTU has warned the Government against cutting tax relief on pension payments.

There was much more on Brexit over the weekend, as the EU agreed a soon-to-be-rejected deal with the UK. Meanwhile, European staff are leaving the NHS in droves.

Not to be outdone by Brexit and the Spice Girls' reunion, the FAI has re-appointed Mick McCarthy as Ireland manager (yes, it's official). And, talking of senior appointments, the Examiner  highlights a dearth of women at the pinnacle of local government.

So the good old days are back, and this classic Zen was released 50 years (almost to the day) ahead of the Brexit deal itself.

God Save Strawberry Jam!

PS. Marina Hyde was on the top of her game in Saturday's Guardian. Highly recommended.
