The RTB today launched its Rent Index Report for Q2 of this year, covering April to June 202 which shows that average rents in new tenancies increased nationally by 11.6%, the highest annual increase since the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) series began in 2007.
The Independent has a story on more trouble in the Department of Health:
Department of Public Expenditure secretary general David Moloney told an Oireachtas committee earlier this month he had not seen HSE boss Bernard Gloster’s letter, sent by email hours before Budget 2024 was announced, warning of “significant and punitive risks to the public” linked to HSE funding shortfalls. However the Independent has obtained correspondence revealing he had seen the email.
And though it may seem like bad news abounds, and this is the darkest time of year, there is always hope, as put beautifully in this poem by Amanda Gorman.
