Public servant status crucial for members as RSA split announced
by Hannah Deasy
Fórsa met with the Department of Transport this week following the government’s recent announcement that it will split up the Road Safety Authority (RSA).
Understandably, many members have been in contact with the union expressing concern about what the reform of the organisation could mean for them.
During the meeting, Fórsa set out our key positions on the RSA’s future, including assurances that RSA staff, and future staff, retain their public servant status.
As a key stakeholder in the future of the RSA, Fórsa also formally requested that the union is included as part of the Departmental Group that will be established to oversee the future changes.
The Department representatives stated that no decisions had been made about any of the matters raised by Fórsa, and that the Departmental Group would be the forum that would consider such matters.
Join a union that wins. Join Fórsa.
