Fórsa and South Dublin County Council are to have an engagement next week at the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) to address the recent dispute on outsourcing.  

Fórsa industrial action, planned to get underway last month, was suspended in order to facilitate talks on the dispute about outsourcing some of the council’s legal services work. 

Fórsa official Maura Cahalan said the next engagement at the WRC will take place next Friday (25th April): “Ahead of the WRC engagement we’ve developed a memorandum of understanding that covers several items, including the creation of a specific protocol for engagement on outsourcing in the future. 

“Fórsa members at South Dublin County Council remain focused on ensuring the maximisation of in-sourced services, through direct employment, because they know and understand that this is the best way to deliver quality public services,” she said.
