Public Sector pay talks began this week. After initial engagement at the WRC on Monday 27th November the parties adjourned. Talks are now due to reconvene this morning, Friday 1st December at 10am. 

Fórsa has formally endorsed the proposed Special Needs Assistant (SNA) National Workforce Development Plan (NWDP). The proposal sets out a new vision for the provision of supports for students with additional educational needs.

Workers experiencing domestic violence will now be able to take up to five days leave with full pay, following the introduction of Section 7 of the Work Life Balance and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2023 which came into effect last Monday (23rd November).

Fórsa has raised concerns with both the Catholic Primary School Management Association (CPSMA) and the Department of Education regarding a draft contract template for school secretaries, which has been posted on the CPSMA website.

Fórsa has raised an issue with Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) about the widespread use of agency labour across different Education and Training Boards (ETBs).

This week Fórsa referred a dispute to the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) concerning the failure of Higher Education employers to implement a newly designed HE job evaluation scheme.
