Among the top five stories on the Irish Times website this morning is Fórsa's statement following a series of serious assaults by residents that have left five staff members requiring hospital treatment in the past ten days.

A total of ten staff have sustained injuries across three violent incidents since Sunday 8^th June. The most recent assault took place on Wednesday (18^th June) in which nine staff were injured, four of whom required hospital treatment, and are now expected to be out of work for a month or more.

Having finished watching all five episodes of Adam Curtis's Shifty this week, I noted acknowledgements for Curtis collaborators Massive Attack. This is my thinly veiled segue to sharing this tune with you. I find it staggering to think the song is 34 years old. Still one of the finest, ageless pop songs of all time, proving the inherent charm of melancholy to a decent backbeat.
