The Irish Times reports that Amazon has scrapped plans to build a large industrial plant in Dublin because it could not secure an electricity supply. The plant was to employ 500 people and designed to produce high-tech server racks for Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems.

A new report reveals that 19 children and young people in Tusla aftercare, or known to the agency, died last year.

New research by the ESRI has found that people living in disadvantaged communities in Ireland have a more negative attitude towards immigration, particularly in areas where there has been an increase in migrants.

Meanwhile, in Leitrim, our colleague Derek Kelleher is among the community voices expressing concern about a planned far right event in August.

Elsewhere, five people were arrested this week amid a series of actions and protests related to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Your Zen this morning is about Dublin artist Pat Curran, whose paintings are on show at the Digital Hub as part of the the Liberties Festival this week (until Sunday). Pat and his family are recovering and rebuilding following an arson attack on their Ballyfermot home in May. He spoke to Sarah Burns in the Irish Times yesterday about the exhibition and the kindness of the wider community since their home was damaged.
